Apr 24, 2019 · A long time ago, when I was a wee child I read some of the Drizzt Do'Urden books, they really captured my imagination. I'd like to continue reading, but I've lost track of which books contain him, and indeed what order they should be read in. I'm specifically interested in the chronological order (not publication order).

There's not a ton of new stuff being written with characters like Drizzt. A character like him is not particularly popular these days because the story ends up being somewhat predictable. We know he will always make the right choice, we know he can't lose a fight, and we know that, eventually, the good guys will win.
There was a lot of bias involved as well, and--according to Erik--a desire to erase some of Ed's mark over the Realms, starting with characters like Eilistraee. You can see that trend in Athan's "A Reader's Guide to Drizzt", a FR primer for Drizzt readers that includes all drow deities, but intentionally leaves Eilistraee out.
